Book of the month:

Honor’s Reward by John Bevere

As Christians, we sometimes focus a lot on prayer, discipline, serving, theology and ritualistic systems. In all this, we forget to honor God; this element is often dismissed. Honoring God is not something that is done out of a sense of duty or to gain something from God. It is a daily expression of acknowledging God in all that you do, respecting Him and being grateful for all that He has done to us.

Honor’s Reward completely changed my perspective. I didn’t understand the Biblical mandates to honor that carry so much weight. As I was reading this book, a transformative work was done by the Holy Spirit in my heart to strongly desire to honor those around me and honor God above all. I have seen the fruit in many areas of life. Truly a message our culture, even many Christians need to hear and take to heartWhen we honor others, it truly glorifies God and we see the rewards in this life and the next. I urge you to read this book and be blessed by the gems of wisdom that it contains.

Song of the month:

Safe Place sung by Josiah Yang (Cornerstone Worship)

The lyrics were written by the worship team of church we attend in Singapore, and led by Josiah Yang who is one of our gifted worship leaders. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. I felt like my thoughts were put into the lyrics of this song.

The chorus is just beautiful!

You’re the joy of my salvation,
I will sing of all your goodness,
You’re the rock that I can hold onto,
My safe place, I will run into

You are my courage when all things go wrong,
My lyrics when I have no song,
Lord be fortress when the thousands fail,
Jesus my safe place, I will run to You.

He is truly our safe place. And no matter what, no matter where we are in life, we can run to Him. Sing this truth, and remind yourself that you are not alone.
